| Eva Carrozza began her dance career as a modern dancer. She has performed and toured with several dance companies, most notably The Jean Erdman Theatre of Dance, The Doris Humphrey Repertory Dance Ensemble, and the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. Eva's immersion into social dancing began in 1993. She loves teaching and performing. She is a teaching artist with the American Ballroom Theater's Dancing Classrooms program founded by Pierre Dulaine & Yvonne Marceau. This program was featured in the documentary Mad Hot Ballroom and the film, Take the Lead. Eva directs the Scholarship Program for the company. |

| In recent years, she has performed in the Wendy Taucher production Carly Simon Dances with original and previously recorded compositions by Carly Simon. In the fall of 2005, Eva toured with the big band revue: Forever Swing. She danced tango with the New York City Ballet program Ballet for Young People at New York State Theatre in Jan. 2005. If you watch channel 13 in NYC, you will probably see Eva dancing tango on the station identifications. Other teaching and performing credits include several clubs: La Belle Epoque, La Nacional, Swing 46, the 92nd Street Y, 53rd Street Y, also outdoors at South Street Seaport & Midsummer Night Swing at Lincoln Center. Eva taught ballroom dancing at the Sports Center of Chelsea Piers from 2000-2006, and was adjunct faculty at Hunter College from 2002-2006. She was a guest instructor at Oberlin College for an intensive residency in social dancing. In April of 2003, she toured with Ramiro Gigliotti, together they taught workshops and performed in several cities in Canada. She has also performed in Mendoza and Buenos Aires, Argentina. |

| A dancer's education is never complete and Eva's present studies include Jazz master Luigi and studio director Francis Roach and the lindy hop legend, Frankie Manning.. Eva studied tango in New York and in Buenos Aires with many of the greatest tango masters of our time, including Guillermina Quiroga, Milena Plebs, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Chicho Frumboli, Pablo Veron and New York City's own Danel & Maria, to name a few. In Lindy Hop, she has studied with Rhythm Hotshots: Eddie Jansen & Eva Langerqvist, and Ryan Francois and Jenny Thomas who appeared in the Broadway show Swing! As Luigi would say, "Never Stop Moving!" |
